What We Believe

About God -- There is only one God, who has always existed and always will. He is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love. He reveals himself in three distinct personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ -- Jesus Christ is the Son of God -- God in human form.  Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect life as a model for us to follow.  Although He was not guilty of any sin, He was put to death so that we might receive forgiveness of our sins.  He rose from the dead to demonstrate that He is more powerful than sin and death.

About the Holy Spirit -- The Holy Spirit lives in every follower of Christ and provides guidance for living as God desires. The Holy Spirit is also active in the world, convicting people of their need for a relationship with God.

About Creation -- God created all things, and all things are owned by him.  We are only caretakers of what think of as "ours".  God created a perfect universe, but when sin entered the world (by man's disobedience) along with it came disease, natural disasters, and death.

About Human Beings -- People were created in the spiritual image of God to have a relationship with Him.  We have become alienated from God because of our disobedience, and we cannot regain that relationship through our own efforts.

About Salvation -- We can never do enough to "make up" for our disobedience.  By dying on the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus paid the price of our sins.  Only by believing in Jesus and committing our lives to Him can we receive forgiveness and be reconciled with God.

About the Bible -- The Bible is God's Word -- our handbook for living.  It was inspired by God and written by human authors.  Its words are relevant not just for the times in which it was written, but for our time as well.

About the Church -- The church is Christ's representative on earth.  The church is not a building -- it is a body of believers, a community, a family.  The church exists to worship God, to love and serve others, and to teach and share the faith.

About the Christian Life -- As followers of Christ, we are to live for Christ and not for ourselves.  Every Christian can and should find a place of ministry, regardless of his or her vocation.  Each one of us has something to offer and some way in which to serve.  Believers are encouraged to discover their gifts and put them to use in service of the Lord.
